Buckets

Over the weekend, we got a couple new buckets from our lovely friend Nichelle, who knows how much the boys like buckets.  Thanks Nichelle!  That got me thinking...must take pictures of the buckets for the blog.  No brainer right?  So, here are a few with my adorable model EJ.

Parkside Cafe

Typical three day weekends we like to hit the road, but we stuck around this weekend for a certain little boy's birthday party.

So, we decided to hit up a restaurant that I have been eyeing, Dierk's Parkside Cafe in Santa Rosa.  It's a pretty small place that definitely draws the crowds.  Every time we pass by it on our way to run errands, we see people spilling out of the front doors.  So, we were up early, like anyone with small kids, and got there before the crowds.

Very yummy!!  The boys had pancakes and Grandma Dierk's pull-aparts.  I had the french toast, which was good, but I should have had what Conn had, the country benedict.  It was tasty!  As for the photo, I need to work with my models, wouldn't you say. Ha!

We will definitely be back.  And in the summer, we hope to visit the water park across the street.  The water comes up from the ground and I know KJ would have a ball.

Till then, we will enjoy the very cold weather we are having.  Snow in the Sonoma Valley this weekend.

Not Hawaii

We have booked our flight to Germany for the Spring.   I am so excited to go.

And we are taking both boys, which will be quite an experience, squirmy, wiggly, anxious boys on a very long flight.  Oh joy!  We took KJ when he was just about a year old.  When we started our trip he was just out little baby but by the time we got home he was a little boy.  Kids grow so much when taken out of their comfort zone.  I am excited to see how they both do and hope they will enjoy it as much as Conn and I.  I love Germany!

On that note, I have to say, although I love Germany (previously stated), I was really craving more of a tropical holiday.  So, on my bucket list next time we travel to Deutschland- Tropical Islands, http://www.tropical-islands.de/en/visitors.html south of Berlin and north of Dresden. Yes, you read it right, this is a water park in the middle of Germany.  The boys are too small now, but next time we visit will be in another two years.  Maybe we can make it happen.  So cool and the best of both worlds!

Visit family and get some tropical vibes.  So Fun!

Love Is In The Air

It is Valentine's Week, yes a whole week to spread the love.  This is a great opportunity to say I love you to many, but also, to celebrate my littlest valentine EJ who was born one year ago this week.  So, to my dear husband, my partner in crime, my best friend, you are wonderful in so many ways, I love you so much.

And, to my EJ, happy 1st birthday to you.  You and your brother are the best boys a mom could ask for.

And if you are wondering, there are no more babies on the bucket list.  We have maxed out.

Happy Valentine's Day to all!  Enjoy

Our National Parks

When I was a kid I wanted to be a forest ranger when I grew up.  Several years later I am not a forest ranger, but I still love our National Parks.  There is a passport that is given out to kids that encourages them to visit all the National Parks and check them off as they go.

My father in law brought one to the house for KJ and EJ.  Well, I guess that means we must start checking them off the list.  Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks are definitely on the list.

We love Yosemite but have been there many times.   We must broaden our perspective.

Hearts and Livers

This post is in honor of my dear friend and old college roommate, who is donating 40% of her liver this Friday to another friend who has liver cancer.  All I can say is AMAZING!!  With this and Valentine’s Day right around the corner, hearts and livers are on my mind.

The game Operation comes to mind as well.  Should we add this to the list of games we need to buy?  Maybe so…I digress.

Go Get ‘Em Olivia!!  Thoughts and Prayers go out to you from our family!!

Hello There!

My name is Moriah and this is my blog!  My husband, Conn, and I work full time, so free time is not in abundance.  When we do find some time, we like to take our two little boys and make the most of it.  This is our ongoing bucket list of things we want to do in the near or far future.  This includes one-day outings close to home, longer vacations abroad, things we hope to do soon and things we don’t want to forget to do when the boys are older.  I hope to keep track of all our ideas and share many adventures here at Our Bucket of Fun.

So, let’s get started.  This weekend we had a few hours to spare, so we drove over to Larson Family Winery.

This particular winery was on my list because I had heard they were  kid and dog friendly.  Check and check!  We pulled up to two of the three labs lying in the sunshine.

What a great way to spend an afternoon.

and a fun ride for KJ.  We will definitely be stopping by again.

Mom and Dad could taste wine and KJ and EJ could play.  Bocce courts, grass, picnic table, not to mention a wonderful view of the vineyards.  Fun for the whole family!
